Giants: Citizen
Kabuto
In Giants, players assume control of
one of three different species of creature on a mysterious asteroid
known simply as the Island. Your alter egos consist of a humanoid
called Meccaryn, the exotic Sea Reaper and the Godzilla-like Kabuto.
Each of these races has unique abilities and personality traits.
The Meccaryns are boozing, pommy space soldiers who got sidetracked
on their way to the Ibiza-like Planet Majorca (it's obvious where
this game was created), while the Sea Reapers have long been the
dominant indigenous life form on the Island. Kabuto is an entirely
different kettle of fish; created by the Sea Reapers to defend the
Island from invaders, Kabuto is a 900-ton behemoth of bone and muscle.
He's also perennially ticked off and has a penchant for crushing
and eating smaller creatures unfortunate enough to cross his path.
Chock-full of bawdy British humour,
Giants successfully combines gameplay elements from a number of
different genres and is one of the most innovative 3D action offerings
in recent years.
